Data & downloads

Every dataset behind this site, as CSV — free to reuse with attribution.

Licence CC BY 4.0: reuse, remix and republish freely, credit euenergyprices.eu and the original source.

These files are exactly what powers the charts and tables on this site: official statistics from Eurostat, the European Commission’s Weekly Oil Bulletin and the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform, cleaned into one consistent schema. They are rebuilt from the database on every download, so they are never older than the pages.

How to cite

Attribution is the only condition. A link to the page you used is ideal; a plain text credit works too:

Method notes

  • “EU average” is the unweighted mean of the EU member states only. Eurostat also reports EFTA and candidate countries; they are included in the files and tables, marked non-EU, but never in the EU average or the rankings.
  • Fuel prices are pump prices including all duties and VAT as reported to the Commission each Monday. Norway, the UK and Switzerland come from national statistics and are converted to euros at the ECB reference rate of the period.
  • Gas prices per m³ shown on the site are a convenience conversion at 10.55 kWh per cubic metre; your supplier’s calorific factor may differ slightly.
  • Wholesale prices are day-ahead auction results per bidding zone (EUR/MWh), 15-minute or hourly resolution averaged to hourly. They are market prices, not what households pay.
